Tis the Day after Christmas

And all through our home, things are beginning to look "normal" today... all Christmas decorations will stay till the day after New Year (at least) and all cleaning is discontinued till the first of the year.

Dewey's Annual Christmas Party was held on December 23rd.  I believe it was the very best over the past 10 yrs.  Not a chair was empty from noon till 2pm...there was potato and pasta salad, and green beans, dip for chips.  Then fried chicken, meatballs, and all kinds of cheese.  Soda and water to wash it all down...oh and can't forget the Chocolate Eclair and cookies for those with a sweet  tooth.
Most of all was the wonderful fellowship with friends and neighbors.  I left the shop before it was over because the dogs were home alone.

Christmas Eve was our annual visit to Lisa Lynn's home where all our families gather to share Christmas Cheer.  It was a wonderful time for all of us to Celebrate the Birth of our King, Christ Jesus all those years ago.

Here's hoping each and everyone of you had a wonderful Christmas, blessings from our home to yours all through the New Year.  hugs, peace and joy from Dewey and Bevie

Good morning, I've been really busy creating new paintings for sale.  Thought I share some with you, hope you like them!

I got my new glasses after 9 whole years...it's amazing what I've been missing.
We've had 3 days in a row with temps of over 95 degrees...hot and humid not good for us older folks or those with breathing problems.   I'm just so thankful for being about to get up out of bed each morning, and still being able to drive on good days...I'm keeping all my friends close in prayer, and hope you all are having great days with joy from God in your heart...blessings, Bevie

I'm so happy Spring is here!

Many of us are so happy to see warm weather after the severe cold we had here on the East Coast. Living up here in the mountains of VA we saw more snow than those living in the City.  Shoveling is something I can't do anymore, and it's difficult for Dewey to do now days.  Sure would be great if our grandsons would come help once in awhile.  Seems they are always too busy, so we just don't ask...and it's not as if we don't offer to pay them...heheh
Ok I've been having a problem with my balance and little mini strokes....so driving and walking around is really difficult.  So sitting and working at the computer and painting is what I do most...those little dust bunnies are running all over the house these days, course Dewey tries to help.  Poor guy is such a great helper...always remembers to help me out of the car, and hold my hand when crossing the street...gets the heavy stuff out of the car after he takes me to the grocery store.  Sigh!!  I hate to be such a bother, but he assures me he doesn't mind...Could I be more blessed, NO. We have gotten closer as time goes by...I can't believe we've been married almost 31 years.

Just a couple photos of some recent paintings and zens...Blessing to all my friends who find time to stop by.
Peace and grace!

God took our mom home today!!!

This is Mom with my daughter Missy I took when visiting her in Winchester Hospital...Today we have said our goodbyes for a brief time for we know we will see her again in all her Glory when we step over into heaven.  My brother Bill, called all of us to say she was struggling and her time might be near.  About an hour later Dewey and I got to Greenfield home where she's been living for the past few years.  She was a little disoriented, but was still able take sips of water...a little later, that wasn't the case so I knew her time was near...her breathing was labored, but she said she was fine.   At 3 am today our Lord came to take her home. We are praising HIM the ease in which she passed...we will mourn her loss, but knowing in our hearts she's with God, and we will see her again.
I hold all my family close as we go through the coming days...God will give us strength and peace through it all...
I want to take all those who have giving such thoughtful comments on FB...you are true friends indeed...Blessings to all.

This was taken here at home during Christmas 2 yrs ago.

Hello to all

It's still very cold here in Cross Junction VA...last snow fall measured 20 inches... some flurries fell over the weekend, but nothing that caused more problems on the road.  Since I'm unable to drive till I get my hip replaced, Dewey has been taking me where I need to go.  Visited my sweet doctor last week who has ordered me a lift-recliner...and a walker with wheels, brakes and seat...Now all I need is the strength to walk..ehehhe   Actually I'm getting around better than last week when I had another fall...these little mini strokes have caused me be unstable on my feet...I know once I get started on therapy I'll get stronger...Can't keep an old gal down for long...hehehe!!!  I continue to enjoy painting...just finished a small 8x10 Abstract this morning, and plan to do some more barns later on in the week...  Hope you all are having fun creating the kind of art you love.  For me it's been snowscapes and landscapes this winter...I haven't done Zentangles since I did the 9x12 ones that I framed...they are so much fun to do....I was wondering if many of you enjoy creating them too???  I pray for all you who have been dealing with harsh weather too...please stay safe and warm...Blessings to all my blogging friends out there~~

I finally got on my blog....

Hello out there in Blog Land!  It's been way too long since I've posted on this blog...hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and your New Year is starting out find.  I know so many of us are dealing with sub-0 temps...we've gotten more snow than in past years, but the bitter cold and ice has caused so many problems.   For me, I'm not walking very well of late, so getting out by myself isn't happening.  Dewey does take me out so I don't feel like a complete shut in..heheheh   I have to admit I've had way too many falls, and am full of old and new bruises.  Last month I feel right into the dogs water bowl, and am just seeing the 8 inch in diameter bruise on my left hip and butt going away...then just the other day I was taking a shower, and wouldn't you know I feel out of the tub.  Hit the bad right knew on the floor, and the left leg behing the knee on the tub...2 beautiful blue and purple bruises slowly coming out..  Since having what the dr calls little mini strokes (where some veins in the back of the head has dried up because my blood was too thick)  Now that I'm on a baby aspirin daily I think it's better.  Well that's whats been going on in my life, it's a wonder my hubby hasn't suggested I be put in a nursing home..eheheh  I think he would be lonely tho...sure hope so. I'm on my way to bed now, do have a great evening at your home.  Blessings, as we believe in our Father to lead us as we go thru things in life...I do!!!

A little about me!

My photo

Am married to a great guy and we've raised 5 of his and my children...they have blessed us with 14 grandchildren.  My passion is creating all forms of art, and handmade jewelry.  On the side I still make some bouquets for weddings and enjoy playing with our 3 pugs.  Living in the mountains gives us such a sense of freedom as we are on 5 acres filled with tall old trees surrounding our little home...we have all kinds of wildlife visiting us daily!!!
