How was your Memorial Weekend?

Hello friends, I wasn't able to do the Indoor Flea Market as planned so my hubby, and I took to Rt 11 (the scenic route) from Winchester, VA thru many towns down to Stauntan, VA (for those who know the area) and it was absolutely beautiful all the way!  So very warm with lots of sun we were able to leave the windows down making it easier to see things.   We left home just after 6 am and  stopped at our little country restaurant for breakfast then enjoyed visiting some yard sales buy little things from some.   We actually put over 160 miles on the old van. Yikes...so happy to have found gas at $3.49 a gal.  I remember when it was 50 cents a gal...do you???

Got a good report when I had a follow up mammo...just as I suspected the little bruise on my left boob was the culprit, and was caused by one of the pugs walking on me...hehehhe!

I wasn't worried at all for God's Peace was with me.  I was reminded of the verse given to me while at " The Potters House Retreat" Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
 John 14:27
then I kept hearing....
And the peace of God, which passeth all understandings, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
 Phil 4:7
May we remember always the Peace and Grace HE gives us!
Now before I close I'd like to thank all those who are in harms way while serving to protect all of us!  You are in my prayers daily for the love you all hold for us...Blessings, Bevie

I truly believe our FAITH keeps us from worrying about things we have no control over! Blessings!!

I'm loving this week!

We've been blessed to have several days without rain!  The sun comes up earlier and earlier, and the birds with their little babies are filling the air with their beautiful songs.  I have to show you another photo of the 5 roses infront of my ramp....they are just so full of blossoms, and lots more buds to open!
I also just finished another little acrylic, mixed media painting...I'm really loving play with paints out of the deck..who could  want more than to be surrounds with  all the sights and sounds of God's creations while getting covered in paint? hehehehe!!
Had my mammo yesterday. I always ask for Heather cuz she's really good at doing it, and of couse I've know her for years having worked in that department too.   Got a call back this morning., Heather  said, "Hi Bev, you know I'm not calling to just say hello"!  How could I not laugh at that.  And I wasn't worried either...I go back for more films tomorrow...so keep me close in your prayers if you will~~~ Now for some photos of the progression of my flowers growing out front.  I have 2 Peony bushes in the back and will take some photos of them once they are fully open!
Blessings to you as you go through your awesome day!! Bevie

Another good day!!

Well I made it to Church Sunday which I can't always do...it always makes the days ahead more bright...Today I wondered if we'd have rain or sun, but around 6:30 the sun was streaming thru all the windows!! Yah!!  Worked on a couple seascapes  then left to have coffee with my friend Diane who I used to work with many years ago at a Center for Independence called AI.  We now meet at Church, and for coffee when I can drive.   As I left her house I noticed the sky was clouding up suspecting a rain shower !  Wanted to share some photos taken on our Sat ride and things still growing around the house.  Maybe I can get this uploaded before the rain starts...Blessings!!!

The Awesome Month of May!

Have you ever thought about all the things that go on in May, and how they make you smile??  I've been seeing so many young gals and guys all dressed up in their Prom clothes  ready for their Prom...whether it be Junior or Senior, it's all pretty important to those going.  I was over at Diane's (duda) blog earlier where she'd posted some awesome photos of her daughter and friend...wow they looked just great.  I haven't seen any of the photos of my Granddaughter Megan yet, but will post her in her lovely purple gown when I get them.  Can you remember your proms???
I was thinking just a minute ago about several of mine that stand out...I have to laugh cuz back then 1960's we work gowns created with mostly yards & yards of netting...and when you've been foolish enough to go sun batheing the day before your prom you should make sure you pick a gown that doesn't match your skin..hehe!  Here I was "glowing and RED" with a gown that matched me to a tee.  The only thing that stood out was the Silver Bow just under the bodice of the strapless gown heheh.  Another one I remember so well was the YELLOW gown with tons of rows of netting from the waist to the tip of my toes...glad to see the gowns today are much more comfortable and fashionable!!!  I'm sorry I don't have a photo of any of my prom gowns, but I think you can imagine what they looked like, right?
Hope you take loads of photos of your guys and gals going to their prom!
Then there's Mother's Day.  It's never been a very "fussy" day for  me, but I have to admit this year was great...kids all called to wish  me well, dropped by mom's to give her a little something special, and hubby bought me a used, but almost new, wing back chair with ottoman in Burgandy from a Flea Market on Sat before Mother's Day with a promise to go back and get the match to it this weekend...we did!!! (smile)
And of course there's our Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester VA the first weekend of May...fun for those who can get around...lots of walking so that lets me out!!!
Last but not least all the friends and family members who have a Birthday in May...Happy Birthday to all.
Oh, before I close I wanted to share a couple photos of me after cutting my hair off.  Like so many times before I tried to let it grow out some, NOT, a bit frumpy I'd say...ehehhehe!!!  Blessings as we get closer to Memorial Weekend...stay safe if traveling and enjoy your selves!!! Bevie

The sun is shining in my heart

Yesterday I woke with the second migraine in over 6 yrs.  I'd been troubled by them for the better part of my adult life making normal everyday living difficult.  I'm sure those of you who have suffered with them know what I'm talking about.  I would have them several times a week, nothing to cheer about.  Then when I was forced to retire in 2005 they left.  I suspect the pollen may have something to do it them...there's usually a trigger...how knows...Today I'm feeling the welcomed sunshine in my heart as well as on my face.  This is a photo I took a couple days ago after some rain showers...some trees beyond our fence, but still on our property.  Look how green!

See the one in the middle?  I call if the 3 in 1 tree...
This was taken on our Sat drive near our home.

There's nothing more beautiful that God's creations...
The Dogwood Tree

We drove thru Middleburg, VA where you can take all day to visit all the unique stores and shops.  This Church is called the Chicken Church by many...they have an indoor flea Market most days!!
I'll leave you with this...Blessings my friends and neighbors!!
