*RECOGNIZING A STROKE*
*Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:
*S** **Ask the individual to SMILE.
*T** **Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e. It is sunny out today.)
*R* *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS. If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number *immediately *and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.
New Sign of a Stroke:
Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke.
These are very simple steps to take when you suspect someone is having a stroke..it could be that a person stumbles, falls and when helped up says he/she is just fine...hrs later only to find that person was rushed to the emergency room and later died....Drs say if they can reach a person having a stroke in the first 3 HOURS they can totally reverse the effects of a stroke.
Hope everyone is having a great day...Bevie

Bevie,
This is so important and I'm glad you shared it today. I recently thought I was having mini strokes and kept checking these very things. I knew I wasn't but still... It did turn out to be a little "something" after all, just not a stroke. But everyone should know this information. Maybe you saved someone today!

Hi Bevie, Thanks for this important lifesaving info. My son in law's father died last night from a massive stroke. XXMollye
