The past 3 weeks

Good morning!!
For the last 2 weeks I've been caring for Dewey (my hubby) because he has pneumonia...3 visits to the doctors, yesterday being the most recent.  As I listened to his dr, Ginny, tell him he was still wheezing, but was finally getting better I happened to cough.  She turned to me and said, my goodness lets take a look at you!!   Yep, I also have pneumonia, and was prompty given 4 perscriptions...Prednisone, an inhaler, strong antibiotic, and Tessenex to help with the congestion and wheezing...Wouldn't you know it!!!   Now he has to care for me...it's supposed to rain all weekend so we will be staying in eating some homemake soup....these kinds of illnesses don't affect me the same way they do him.
I've been up most of the night hurting all over so I finally too 2 pain pills, and came in here to check msgs!   I can't post an photos that I took recently as I've "lost" my camera...now I know it wasn't working as well as it did when I first got it, but I sure need to be able to keep up on the things I create so I can share with you all.   I was going to get one of those old throw away camera....but....I think I will order a new one from fromQVC..they have some good prices on them!!!
I'm hoping that all of you stay clear of this junk we have, it started with all the pollen in the air....sigh!!!
Take care and have a wonderful weekend folks...Miss visiting all your blogs!  This puter is getting old like MOI...hehehe!!!
love ya!

Easter 2012

My day started with putting some meatballs in bbq sauce to slow cook while I went to Church to hear my Preacher give is wonderful account of the meaning of Easter.  As I've said before it's bitter/sweet to read the accounts of what led up to the crucifixion of our precious Christ Jesus!  After Church we left for a party to celebrate the life of one of God's children who's been facing the pain of cancer!  It was good to be with her and her family, hubbies ex-wife, and dear sisters and bros who continue to be an extension of our family!  It was a treat to see everyone and to be in our Host and Hostess' beautiful home again...it's been a year!  I have to tell you a little about Ken and Sherree Ryder...I believe she's the youngest of 5 sisters and one bro.  They  have opened 2 gyms, and are about to open 3 more...Sheree was a body builder, and made a big hit when competing.  Have to say I admire their love for one another and for family!
Here are some photos of their awesome home...and so of the people who joined us for the celebration of Joyce's life.

What Easter means to us.

Boy we have had morning temps around 30 degrees the past couple days. I'd planted one tomato plant in a barrel planter sitting on my front deck thinking that Spring was indeed here...NOT  Yes, the plant is still thriving cuz we cover it each night to keep the frost off it.  We don't usually plant in our raised beds till end of April or beginning of May.   Have to wait and see...how about you folks, do you plant a garden these days?  It's a big help through out the winter to have home canned goods to eat...too much salt in the canned foods we buy!
Dewey and I have started to walk to help with our weight lose, however after my second day I was having so much pain in my hips and legs I have realized with the Fibro and bad hip I need to do it every other day...Oh the blessings of being older..hehehe
I had my last Bazaar for awhile...that too has become difficult to do...perhaps when I get this hip replaced I'll be almost as good as new...you think??? hhehehe
I was wondering what time of year was your favorite??  For me it's Spring with all the new growth popping up with awesome color...new leaves covering all our bare trees...oh and the Red buds, Dogwoods, and daffodils!! The smell is like walking into a Perfume factory...I know for some it's ALLERGY Time...sorry for you folks.

Easter is upon us, those of us who believe know that on that day so long ago Jesus was Crucified on the Cross at Gethsemane. He was layed in a tomb then on the third day Mary Magdalene, Mary HIS mother, and Salome came with spices so they could embalm Jesus.  The found the large stone covering the enterence to the tomb rolled away, and thanks be to God he'd been raised up....oh my heart can only wonder how they felt when they saw the man dressed all in white sitting in the tomb.  What would we have done had we been there??  We'd probably fall to our knees giving thanks to God for giving us this awesome free gift of life everlasting with HIM for all eternity provided we believe Christ Jesus died for our sins...I think about how Jesus was treated as they placed the crown of thorns upon his head...those thorns were not little ones, but large maybe 3 inches long.  My heart cries for all that he endured, but it also feels so blessed to know it was for our salvation.
We are blessed with God's grace and peace through all things here on earth...following HIS word is probably the hardest yet best thing we humans do throughout our lives.

ASE Keepin' Creative: A Sweet Treat

ASE Keepin' Creative: A Sweet Treat: Guess what I've been dabbling in???? It's my very first cake (that I made for someone else, anyway)! What do you think? I sure did enjoy mak...

No ride this weekend

Hello, we didn't have our usual weekend drive because it was raining, and my hip was acting up making walking difficult. I guess I should go make the appointment for surgery, but  was hoping it would just go away. heheheh!!  I was supposed to participate in our monthy yardsale at the Ruritan Club however I just couldn't...the hip again.  Church was out as well which really made me feel bad...I hate to miss even one Sunday don't you?  My week seems to go along on a more positive note when I do.

Several things did get done around the house...made a couple more Apple Blossom neckace and earring sets for the up coming Craft Bazzar this coming Saturday...so please say a little prayer for me, if you would, that I sell lots of my crafts.  Gonna take some short scarves even tho it's now SPRING...perhaps some will want to get them now with the low price I'm charging...they've seem to make a big hit with the ladies in my "quilting Group" and in our Church!

One new necklace and earrings set

Here are a couple other items I've made...not sure I've shared them here...if so just remember I have no short term memory!!!hehehehe

I know I should close cuz this is already long, but would like to share some photos from my girlfriend, Betty and my fav restaurant in Berryville VA that has such beautiful surrounds, and we often get a glimps of the owner, Sue.  I didn't get photos of all the Christian things she has too. Next time we get to go there..hehe

Talk to you soon, have a blessed week!!

We had an awesome Saturday drive

Ok I have to admit I ate my share of this really delicious appitizer when we stopped in Staunton Virginia...the last town before turning for home.  I'm getting way ahead of myself, sorry.  We left Cross Jct around 9am Sat. and went down old Rt 11 where you see all the little towns and shops instead of Interstate 81.  It was so much fun cuz we stopped at several antique malls.  Here's some of the things we saw...

I thought about getting these for the spare bedroom,
but didn't...
I'd like to share some photos of the little towns we went through too.

This is Strasburg where my sister in law,
Brenda has her State Farm Ins agency!

Saw all kinds of homes and beautiful blossoms too

Kewl little shop

Awesome tree blooming!

Loved this Big Home!

I can just image the family living in this home
over the year!

AND, the one thing I purchased...isn't this a lovely
handpainted vase?
Well I think I've added more than enough today...
Blessings as you start out this week, enjoying all
that God has given you...

Good morning, it's again sunny and promising to be another warm day.  We had rain during the night, and this morning the grass is so much greener...weeeee Spring's gentle face is peeking all around us here in VA.  Hope March doesn't end with a roaring Lion, but just turns away like a Lamb.  Yesterday would have been our Dad's 97th Birthday had he lived.  Our mom, Donna will be 94 April 26th....I'm going to visit her next Monday...it's been over a month since I've seen her cuz of my being sick...Oh glory day I'm happy to be feeling better.

I'd misplaced my cell phone last Sunday somewhere between Church and home...with the short term memory problem I can't remember where tho.  Dewey took me to Sprint to see if we could get a new one...seems I didn't have insurance to cover the phone, just the battery.  I am eligible for an upgrade in May so we came home and found one of my earlier phones so they could activate it to use till then.   Course there were so many phone numbers missing...didn't take me long to add them tho..."Smile"

Well, I have much to do today, get groceries, make more jewelry, get some ATCS finished and mailed...and oh yes, clean house..Which one do you think I'll do first??  Yep, finish my coffee and complete the ATC for Patti Koosed in Creative Souls and get it off a day late. Bad!

Here are some of the Apple Blossom creations I've done.  Winchester, VA celebrates with a big luncheon with women sporting there Pink and Green hats...there's a parade, and much more!  I've lived in and around Winchester for more than 20 yrs and haven't attended because of all the walking it entails.  One day perhaps...but I've been involved by selling parking spaces when working for Access Independence. We had prime space for those attending the parade.
Ok I'll hush!   You all have a grand day knowing God is in control of all things, lean on HIS grace and peace!!!

There is more...will post later!
