The sun is shining in my heart

Yesterday I woke with the second migraine in over 6 yrs.  I'd been troubled by them for the better part of my adult life making normal everyday living difficult.  I'm sure those of you who have suffered with them know what I'm talking about.  I would have them several times a week, nothing to cheer about.  Then when I was forced to retire in 2005 they left.  I suspect the pollen may have something to do it them...there's usually a trigger...how knows...Today I'm feeling the welcomed sunshine in my heart as well as on my face.  This is a photo I took a couple days ago after some rain showers...some trees beyond our fence, but still on our property.  Look how green!

See the one in the middle?  I call if the 3 in 1 tree...
This was taken on our Sat drive near our home.

There's nothing more beautiful that God's creations...
The Dogwood Tree

We drove thru Middleburg, VA where you can take all day to visit all the unique stores and shops.  This Church is called the Chicken Church by many...they have an indoor flea Market most days!!
I'll leave you with this...Blessings my friends and neighbors!!

I know God's plan for me.

Good morning, it's been raining all night and I think it will continue throughout the day.  Today I was supposed to be in an indoor flea market @ the Ruritan Club selling a little of this and that...some jewelry, some art, but mostly almost new clothes!  I'd worked for the past couple weeks getting everything washed, tagged and packed, but as I tried to get out of bed I realized God had other plans for me today...I wasn't able to walk at first...(still waiting for the total knee replacement) I knew if I'd gone ahead, and joined the others today I'd not be able to walk tomorrow.   Spending time in my Church on Easter is much more important than selling today...So I called to cancel my table so someone else could use it, and will wait for another time to sell my "stuff"  Glory to God for his guidance, grace and peace!

Blessings to you all!!!

Sharing a little of what I've been doing

Good morning, I haven't been online as much lately because I've been getting some jewelry made for out Monthly Flea Market in Winchester VA this Saturday.  I've created some inexpensive bracelets in pink and green to celebrate the Apple Blossom Festival that's held the beginning of May each year.  Here are some...prices will be $3.00 each.

Here are a couple other things I've created as well!

The pearls in the photo look yellow, but they aren't in person.
May you all have a glorious rest of the week, and a peaceful weekend!  (((hugs)))

As we celebrate Easter

I sat here yesterday wanting to start a new post, however my puter wasn't being cooperative because of all the rain.  I'm not complaining tho, I see today greener grass, little shoots popping up from the ground which will grow into some beautiful flowers very soon.  Oh the sweet smell of those flowers I can almost smell!!

Good Friday is just two days away, and as always my heart feels such sadness thinking about that day so long ago when our Christ Jesus was nailed to that Cross at Calvary.   He was pure, without sin yet He became the sacrific for all of us.  Just think about it!  God came as a man to give all of us a way out...a way to live in Eternity with Him forever.  I have to tell you it's kinda bitter sweet for me...it always has been.  Our precious Jesus died the most awful death, BUT on Easter Sunday they went to the tomb to find HIM gone...He had arose from the dead.  How can anyone in their right mind refuse to accept this truth?  There are so many still how refuse to accept this free gift, and my heart cries for them...I praise God for HIS awesome sacrific and for the knowledge that I will one day be with HIM!!! Thank you Lord!!!  Many blessings to all who happen by this blog.  Jesus loves you and so do I!

God's grace!

Well I'm finally going to have my right knee replaced...it's been something I've put off believing God would heal it.  (I see my surgeon this Thursday to set a date).  Some would say if you are a child of God, and follow HIS word we will be healed.  I do believe one day I will be...maybe not in this world, but in the next!!!  You know I've always believe the pain I live with only brings me closer to God.

As I sat in Church Sunday I was struck by the awesome Joy and peace I was feeling as we sang "Amazing Grace" (one of my very fav. songs).  My heart sometimes feels like it's going to burst for the Love I have for HIM.  My cup surely does runneth over.  How about you???

As I awake each morning my thought turn to prayer thanking HIM for a new day in which to praise, and share HIS love to all I meet.   It's been ages since I've been able to drive and visit others so today I'm asking you to join with me in praying for all those who are facing surgeries.  (me included plz)

As I sit here thinking I must get up and move around so the knee doesn't freeze up on me.  Using the walker helps keep me from falling.  Now I want to share an awesome blog with you all...

Durning the 40 days of Lent

If you haven't been to my sister, Mary's awesome Blog you must stop by.  She shares her heart and love for our Abba Father each day, and you have to see the paintings she's doing...it's a wonderful experience seeing how God is working in her life....  http://asplendidadventure.blogspot.com/
(oh btw there's some pictures of a crew and actors at her home while they were filming a movie to be aired in Jun...check it out)

There's  another blog I'd like to share with you too...Mary and I went to  the Potter's House Retreat last October where we felt the presence of God all around us, and learned the value of truly listening to God.  Pat Miller and Nancy Williamson were two awesome leaders of the Retreat...we all became sisters in Christ too.  Well Pat has a blog where she's sharing her journey of the 40 days of Lent.  You don't want to miss all she is sharing there either.
 http://quiet-trust-is-strength.blogspot.com/

As I've been reading thru Matthew Mark and Luke this Lenten Season I've discovered somethings about myself I'm not too proud of.  I've allowed other things to come before my quiet time with my Abba Father so I ask for forgiveness.  When HE is first each day my days go so much smoother, and my pain is bearable!!!  I pray for HIS guidence, grace and mercy in all things...

My dear hubby and I took a little ride last Saturday since I was feeling a bit better after 3 wks of coughing my head off..ehehhe~  We road up to WV to Rio where there's a really old store that has all kinds of old things...if you weed thru things you can sometimes find something of use.  I did find a little pyrex bowl like one I already have but mine has a lid...now I have to bowls the size I like to use for warming up food...yay!!  I also bought to 5 lb bags of potatoes, and only sent $4.00 for it all.  The best of the ride was spending time with Dewey talking about anything that came to mind...even enjoyed just looking and being quiet!!!  Yes, I can be quiet at times..hehehehe!!!
Here are a couple photos I took!!!
Do you see the Cross???

A beauty!!

So special!

I used to work for a non-profit business called, Access Independence back in the early 1990's as their Bookkeeper.  It was a total blessing as those I worked with were Christians also!   Ginny a dear friend shared this with me this morning now I'm sharing it with all of you!  Blessings!!

Someone has written these beautiful words. One must read and try to understand the deep meanings in them. They are like the Ten Commandments to follow in life all the time.

1] Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble; it is a "steering wheel" that directs us in the right path throughout life.

2] Do you know why a car's WINDSHIELD is so large & the rear view mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, look ahead and move on.

3] Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.

4] All things in life are temporary. If things are going well enjoy it, they will not last forever. If things are going wrong don't worry, they can't last long either.

5] Old friends are like Gold! New friends are Diamonds! If you get a Diamond, don't forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a base of Gold!

6] Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, "Relax, my child, it's just a bend, not the end!

7] When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn't solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities.

8] A blind person asked St. Anthony: "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "Yes, losing your vision."

9] When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them; and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.

10) WORRYING does not take away tomorrow's TROUBLES; it takes away today’s PEACE.

What makes me feel blessed~

My mornings are the borometer to the rest of the day for me.  I thank God for another day to be able to swing my feet over the side of the bed then gingerly stand up!  I know if I keep my mind and heart open to HIS spirit that lives inside me I can do anything, and do it well.  Ok, that's a matter of opinion isn't it? hehehe   I love painting and know that God has given me a talent to reach out of myself and give to others...sure I'm not a fine artist, but I never thought I'd be painting on canvas nor selling some of them!  See, I've been blessed.  I also feel HIS love throughout the day as I give him all the praise for what I am.

Now as I sit here getting ready to share two paintings I just finished this morning I wonder if you will like them... Do I show the love of my Abba Father in these paintings??  I hope I do for that's the reason I paint.  If they touch someone it's even better....A dear friend (Bernice) said to me one day after I said I wasn't a very good artist...(or could I even be called an artist for that matter.)  She  said it's not how I view my painting, but how it might touch someone else.  A memory brought to mind or a special place it reminds one of.   I thought about that for a time,  and have to agree we all see things differently.  Thank you Bernie for allowing me to see what I now know to be true...God speaks to others in all different ways...Blessings~~~
This is a little table I've had for years...what fun it was to paint it!!!

In the beginning

It's been oh I guess 6 yrs now that I've been painting in earnest, and I'm going to be putting many of those still hanging on my spare room wall in a lovely shop in another town...I'm hoping to sell them so I can add to our finances. Life has gotten very hard for many of us because of the economy, but even more now because of the tension in the Middle East.  I pray for all involved that the bloodshed stops...In the very beginning God said their would be wars, and even helped many to win.  Yes, war has been around for a very long time...as a small child I can remember my dad dressed in his Navy uniform, and him getting ready to go overseas, but a wonderful thing happened...the war ended in the early 40's so he wasn't sent into harms way.  May of us have family and friends who've found in the preceeding wars with our prayers holding them all close.  I wait for the day when war is done with, all are in Heaven living with our Heavenly Father...that gives us much hope doesn't it???  I sure do me.  All through history people have struggled with something, but I'm confident God's promises will come true..aren't you?
I feel a bit weepy today for those who have gone in wars and those who are dealing with cancers and pain....I"m thankful God knows everyone's needs cuz I'd be praying all day long without a break if HE didn't..there are so many on my prayer list.  Blessings to each of you for new hope and peace as we go towards Spring...love one another and your neighbors being there for those who need a little help..My faith keeps me strong how about you??
Here's a couple canvas paintings I've done over the past 5 yrs..give me a shout if there's one you really like!!!

Sharing the music and heart of Matt Browne

Many of you know I have a precious sister named, Mary Freeman.  She has an awesome blog, and shares all that God is doing in her live, and in fact He's using her more and more!!
If you haven't do visit her blog  http://asplendidadventure.blogspot.com/
When visiting her in Georgia every year or two I have the priviledge of going to Church with her family. I must say the very first time I was surprised to meet several of the young pastors, one of which stood out for me, Matt Browne a wonderful husband and father, and an awesome man on fire for our Lord!! I always left with the feeling that God surely has an open vessel in Matt. Well, Mary shared with me earlier today that Matt has a new CD out and I would like to introduce you to him via his website where you can actually listen to the songs and if so motivated purchase it right there...I listened with such awe at how his love for the Lord came thru loud and clear!!! http://www.matthewbrownemusic.com/music.html/

Enjoy!!! (((hugs)))

Celebrating my 68th Birthday!

My hubby and best friend took me out to a lovely Birthday dinner on Friday the 4th rather than on my BD the 5th as the weather report was iffy as to another snowfall.  We sure had a great meal, and got home around 7pm. Saturday it was very cloudy and fog that lasted all day!!  I'm still not walking well after last Saturday's fall...so being in on my Birthday wasn't bad at all...what more could I ask for with my 3 pugs, fat cat, and my hubby to share the day watching old westerns..eheheh~!  Actually saw some I'd not seen before (is that possible)  I don't watch TV much, don't even have my DVD hooked up!!  I do when I"m knitting or crocheting...did a couple new scarves and hats that match...One of the hats has three different crocheted flowers making the hat a little different each time you wear it...gonna add them to etsy...brb gonna go take a photo of them so I can show you...it's amazing how you can crochet sitting up, or propped up in a Williams position which takes the pressure of a hurting back!!! Kewl...

This photo shows the 3 flower pins

I love purple with grey!

Beautiful to see the sun coming up this morning!!!

No ride on Sat!

You know we all have things that stop us in our tracts like what happened to us on Saturday.  As we left the house to take our usual ride, I noticed a sissing sound at the end of the house...We found that the outside free standing faucet (it's hard for me to discribe) was leaking water...then we discovered all the water laying on top of the ground from the house down towards the woodline....a very long way!  Yep, we had a leak somewhere from the well to the house...our thoughts quickly turned to panic since the pipe runs under the paved driveway.   You can believe we both started praying that the brake was somewhere close to the house...At least all the water made it a little easier for Dewey to dig down to the pipe.  For hours I applied him with water and hot chocolate trying to keep him warm feeling really bad cuz I couldn't help.  Into the evening he was able to find a little hole in the bottom of the tee where the faucet connected to the pipe.  (Yes, we turned the water off before starting)  It was all he could do for the day...at least we weren't losing anymore water...but can you image how long it must have been running for it to come up 4 feet to the top of the ground making what appeared to be a huge ice skating area? sigh!!!
As we changed close to head for the store to purchase water for us to use I had a terrible fall on the sidewalk...head first..my ankle twisted and down I went.  I am hurting even today from that, but no broken bones thank God!!
Low and behold the next morning a call came from his son and sil saying they were at Lowes and wanting to know what size pipe, fittings etc we would need to fix it.   Two hours later they rolled in and Lee jumped into the hole Dewey had dug and fixed it.   During the night the pile of dirt that had been extracted from the hole had frozen solid...so we had to go by some...you can't image how many places we went before we found a place that had soil indoors out of the frigid weather...Big Lots..ehehhee!!!
It's amazing that thru all that we knew it would be ok...God was with us thru it all..he gave Dewey the strength to continue digging down where the water and ground was so gold he couldn't feel his hands.   I missed Church but HE was with us...Isn't it awesome that our Father can be everywhere helping us all at the same time...What a God we serve!!!
