Good morning!!!

It's sunny and snowing here in VA..hhehhe  we haven't gotten more than an inch or two over the winter, but it appears we will have a sizable snow on Weds...since Dewey is still having problems with A'Fib it would be difficult for him to shovel snow...I will try, but my back have been giving me a fit for months now...going to have another shot soon....it lasted 3 mos last time!!!
Well, I've been making ATC cards after a long hiatus.  I wanted to share the one I received from Stacey Merrill in our Creative Soul's Ning group for Jan/Feb trade.  It was birds/flowers.  I went with birds and Stacey went with flowers and boy she did an awesome atc.
From Stacey Merrill

Here's the one I sent her

Thought I'd add a couple other atcs I've created and posted in Flickr
as well as some birds around the feeders here at home!!!

Another day in the ER

I think my pain stems from sitting in the ER for another day...getting up and down puts a real hurtin on me.  Dewey woke with severe back pain, high fever (101.5) and blood in his urine.  First suspect was that he had a kidney stone, but after a CT Scan it wasn't that.  After hours of doing tests, the doctors believe he's getting shingles...now how did the arrive at that???  It's beyond my understanding.  So we left the ER around 7pm and drove home in what looked like a blizzard, but we only go a dusting..eheheh  Oh, and he was hooked up to a heart monitor of course, and would you believe he was back in Sinus Rhythm???  And he's supposed to see his Cardiologist tomorrow for them to shock his heart!!!  I'll be really happy if it stays in and that doesn't have to be done!!!
Well, I get to get away for a couple hrs~ Our Women's group is meeting for lunch today at our Firehall!!!  Will be nice!!
Blessings to all who stop by~ Bevie :)

We have temps up in the 50s....awesome!!!

Hello out there in Blogland. It's been difficulty lately to keep up with, and post in all the blogs I follow...but will try to this week.  It's funny how the weather is playing tricks on us...one day it's raining the next snowing, then the temp goes from in the teens up into the high 50's like today.  Sun's been coming in and out...sigh, can't wait for Spring to start...I want to see new growth popping up in the flowerbeds...the smell of those beautiful perennials makes my heart sing, how about you??  I love all the Seasons actually, but Spring is my fav.  I believe it's the new growth everywhere...a renewing of things to come...gives me so much HOPE, and Peace no only from Nature, but from our Heavenly Father Above!!

Now, I hope to share some recent photos of some birds I captured yesterday and today...Blessings for a wonderful week to come...Peace and grace to each of you!!!

God's blessings in my life

Good morning, I have so much to share with you all...This past week has been filled with God's Blessings for Tuesday, (my 70th Birthday) my husband, Dewey went to the Vascular Heart Ctr at our local Hospital to have his heart shocked!!!  yes, he was scared although he truly believes God is always in control....many times our HUMAN Nature takes over and leads us to worry...not something God wants us to do.  The preparations required to do this took at least 3 hrs...His daughter, Lisa and I sat there with him listening to his Nurse, Paul Shutt describe to him all that was to take place up to the shocking of his heart.  Thinking back about 10 yrs I can remember some of what Paul shared...but things have changed over time.  Course Dewey had an abrasion last time he was in Atrial Fib.  We weren't even aware that what he was feeling was actually A'Fib..he had these symptoms, tired, shortness of breath, dizziness as well for several months however he couldn't feel his heart out of rhythm this time.
Sooo, well into the 3 hrs they sent Lisa and I out of the room, and no sooner did we sit down the nurse came to get us...it was all over and his heart was back in Rhythm!  It then took him about 2 hrs to be ready to leave.  This is just the second time I've driven him home...eehehe!!!  Now folks I'm a good driver so I don't know why he has an aversion to me driving him..ehehehhe~~  I knew everything was going to go well, you can feel the peace of God within yourself...

I've been entering Creative Soul's monthly ATC trades, and this one for Jan/Feb was hearts or birds...well you know how much I love painting birds so of course I did a Male Cardinal in all his glory!!! hehhe

My partner was Stacey Merrill...a really sweet gal...
Have a wonderful weekend to all!!!

More of the girls at the Retreat

It's so hard to believe this was taken so many years ago...2007...what a lovely group of ladies sharing at Nancy's Potter House Retreat

It snowed more last night

Good morning, yes it snowed a (slowly) during the night and only ended up with another 2 inches.  It's amazing how little altogether we got the past 4 days.  I've so enjoyed sitting by the fire creating some more paintings of old barns, and capturing more photos of all the birds looking for food.

This morning I've been trying to visit as many of your blogs as I can, but know it's going to take days and hours to catch up only to start all over again.  So, I am hoping and praying all you out there are enjoying your day...whatever you are doing, creating new art, cleaning the house, or doing the best job you can wherever you might be working.
Take a minute to thank God for all HE does for you....where would we be if we didn't have HIS promises for everlasting life because of Christ Jesus dying for our sin on the Cross at Calvary.  Just think about it...makes goosebumps come up on my skin when I think about how enormous it is.

Woke to snow falling!

Woke in the middle of the night to see light snow falling...by morning we had about an inch and a half.  It was so breathtaking to see all the trees covered with an inch of snow..beautiful, white fluffy snow.  I've captured many photos of the early birds feeding off the front and back deck....yes I threw out fresh seeds...I love watching them clammer together to get their share don't you?  I hope I'm able to post some of my recent photos so you can see what I've been up to of late.  God is keeping me create some new barn paintings and making lots of Chemo hats...so if anyone needs one or two do let me know.  Most of them are winter hats...Blessings as we get near the weekend...for us here in VA we expect a sizeable snow starting late tonight into tomorrow...love you all!!!

Had a great day!

Gee what a carefree day I had yesterday!  Got some things done around the house early then posted this painting of the first painting for Lee.  Went to the Fire Hall where about 15 ladies in our neighborhood meet the second Thursday of the month. We take turns contributing to that lunch...I need to think about doing something soon.  Edie, my neighbor across the street visited a huge pot of vegetable and beef soup, Awesome...
Then I drove to Joannes for some new yarn...making Chemo hats....a couple to our dear cousin Stacy...I have one finished and will have the other one done tomorrow. Yeppie!  From there I went next door to Big Lots...I'd always concidered it much like the Dollar Stores, but am happy to relate I found lots of goods there...This I use, but less expensive than the grocery store.   Walmart was calling to me and was my last destination...thank God..I was beginning to feel tired.

Wasn't hard to spend over $100.00 but got everything on my list....yes if I didn't create a list I'd forget was too much!!!

I finished the painting for Karen that I posted and now have as my Title Photo...it's a little different, but then I try not to do anything exactly like any I've painted...
Here it is...and I wanted to share the Sunrise I captured this morning..  I guess you noticed I changed the Title of my blog..I really wanted it to represent what I choose to post here...and since I share mostly the things I create this sounds much better...God is the one who gave me the urge and ability to paint...I"m not a Fine Arts by any means, but it's what I call, God's gift to me...
Happy Weekend to all, and a very Happy New Year...(((hugs)))  My puter won't let me post a picture right now so I'll come back later and post the painting I did for Karen and the sunrise taken today!!!

We had a White Christmas

We celebrated Christ's Birthday with our family over 3 days.  Sunday our daughter, Lisa came with her family and share'd gifts and food with us for a change.  It's usually at Lisa's home.....Then Monday afternoon Dewey and I drove to April's where we were supposed to meet up with Missy and Skip.  It didn't turn out that way however cuz it started snowing so we had to start home earlier than we'd planned.  It's a shame Missy and Skip didn't get there till after we left...Next year I'm just going to have everyone at our house so we won't miss being with everyone!  I'm hoping to have Missy and Skip over in the next week...it's snowed more since last Monday...beautiful fluffy white snow covered the grounds on Christmas day, and again yesterday!  We got about 5 inches so I haven't been out today!  This is what I did with my day,
Old snow covered barn
8x10 acrylic on canvasboard

Another snow covered barn with fence on 16x20 canvasboard

Wrinkles laying on the floor with Sadieblue

Napoleon on the sofa!

The day after Christmas I got out all the great art
supplies Dewey gave me for Christmas and painted these
two paintings...he gave me new paints, brushes, and canvasboards.."smile"

Wishing everyone a very Happy and Safe New Years!!!

Doing a little decorating

I was sitting here at the computer reading msgs, while I was thinking about all the things I need to do today. Who said I couldn't multi-task..eheheh!!! Yesterday I spent much of yesterday creating some new Christmas decorations using things I had in my storage building. We have to cut corners where we can, right? Here is a photo of the tree I created using different shaped wreaths. I'm really happy with the results, what do you think?

I took the old gold with clear lights apart and created this little gem...I love all the colors, do you?

Our little home covered with color

Santa's created by Joanne years ago
showing off the painting done by my sister, Mary

Last but not least is the awesome Nativity Set
give to us many years ago, but Dewey's sister

We do all this decorating as an outward show to our Lord how much we praise HIM for all that He has done for us.   Celebrating Jesus Christ's Birth was the beginning of a whole new understanding of what and who God is to the World...without Jesus there would be no hope!  Just think about that...
Blessings to all who stop by, God loves you and so do I....

I feel so blessed!

Well my sister posted about some questions she'd been asking herself, and it made me stop and take a look at how I would answer them.  I think the gist of what she was asking herself was "am I doing the things I'm doing i.e. blogging, creating art, journaling etc for my own gratification or to get the kudos from all those who come by to see. First of all I believe she has a truly awesome heart and just about everything she does is with God's grace in mind.  If she wasn't sharing her work, and love for the Lord in her blog, and yes in all that she does then many people would miss out on what she has to offer.  When I say she has a true heart I mean she doesn't post to get recognition for herself. I believe God has been using her for HIS good...that being said I am sharing her blog here again just in case you haven't visited yet...  http://www.asplendidadventure.blogspot.com

I'm feeling so blessed cuz God has given be the love of so many things, and expressing myself in my paintings is one.  Sometimes satan gets hold of us when we are feeling down because of so many reasons, me it pain....but we have the Armor of God's word to keep us out of satan's grasp, right?  That's why I feel so blessed!!  Going to sleep with HIM on my mind, and waking to thanking HIM for another day, and praying with thanksgiving throughout the day keeps my mind and heart on my Heavenly Father!  How could I not feel blessed, do you feel that way?
Now I want to share a couple new painting I've done recently...painting old barns gives me such joy...I think in the future I'm going to take photos of local barns and old houses and do research on them to share after finishing the paintings.......
This 8x10 has sold

This old barn painting has sold

Love this 12x24 canvas painting

This one sold too.

I finished this one yesterday after Church

Burrrrrr

We woke to temps in the teens this morning as we left the house at 6am to go vote.  We didn't have to wait long as there weren't many people there yet.
This morning as I looked outside I thought at first we had gotten some snow....but it was just a heavy frost.  The weather report perdicts some snow tomorrow tho.  How about you all, have you had snow yet?  I've been painting some and making some darling little Christmas Angel earrings to give at Church...actually will list some in my Etsy shop as well for just $3.00 a pair.
11x13 acrylic old barn painting 110512

8x10 lighthouse painting framed 110512
Here some of the earrings I've made during the past week...gave every lady at Church at least one pair...most 2 pair to share...we gave our Community Thanksgiving Dinner on the 3rd...It's wonderful when you see families coming together to eat at the Church...we will be doing some Christmas Baskets.   We've also been collecting little trinkets over the past few months to give to one of the Nursing Homes in our area...then those who want to can pick items to give as gifts either there or even family members!!!  I wasn't able to get lap blankets done in time like last year...but there's going to be plenty of trinkets for all to share!!!
Wishing everyone a wonderful day and a blessed week...for those in the way of this next storm, I pray you will be save and kept warm!!!
(((hugs))))

Praying for those in Harms Way!

Good morning friends, my heart goes out to all those who were in "Sandy's path of distruction. It's unbelievable seeing all those struggling knowing they must start all over.  We only had a couple more trees fall into our fence, but we can fix this not like those who are worrying about going on with their lives~ we can help by making donations no matter how little...just think if everyone could only donate a dollar...think about it.  We all know how powerful prayer is...my thoughts are full of prayers for all those in need!
2 fallen trees during "Sandy"

1 tree that fell several months ago

I wanted to share a couple photos of the snow that fell on the mountains near us during the storm.
Well I'm going to close now as our Church is having our annual Thanksgiving Dinner for the Community this afternoon.  Since I can't drive, stand much I will sit and help out the best I can!

Yes, I forgot to update info about my hip replacement.  Went to see our Infection Disease Dr yesterday, and got all the perscriptions for the wash, antibiotic and a couple other things I need to do before the surgery.  Seems I have a staff infection like before, but this time I also need to have a tooth pulled as well. Gurrrr.  I wonder if God is telling me to hold off on the hip surgery till after the Holidays...could be..ehheh  hummmm.

I continue to pray for all those who are suffering so...believing in God's promises gives me comfort I hope it does you too!!!
Blessings!!!
