What a wonderful feeling!!!

Good morning! I've already been out visiting my dear friend, Diane Starkey and enjoyed a cup of coffee with her.  She's such a sweet lady, and I've know her since I think itwas 1995 when I hired on with Access Independence, a non-profit organization in Winchester who help all those with disabilities. 
I wanted to share with you all that I had "the" shot in my lower back/hip for all the pain I've been in for way too long...I knew the numbing meds would help for a time, but since I had that shop on Weds, I haven't had a bit of pain.  No kidding I had no idea it would work that fast.  Praise the Lord for His constant presence in my Life...

Oh What a Beautiful Morn-ning!

We woke to the most beautiful morning with temps in the low 70's and a promise for a less humid, and temps in the 80's all day long!!  Perfect wouldn't you say?  I was up at 4:30 with way too much pain in my lower back and right hip...yep I did too much weeding in the front flowerbed yesterday.  Something I know I shouldn't do, but do I listen to my body? NO...and I suffer the consequences. 
Much like when I take matters in my own hands not waiting to God's guidance!  I pray constantly for more patience, but we all know we are given more things to be patient about don't we? 
My prayers continue to be with those who were shot at the Theater in Colorado..and all the families of those who didn't survive.  We are experiencing so much suffering all over the world by people who have let Satin take over their lives in one way or another..we must pray for those who lose contact with reality!
Praise be to God for HIS guidance,peace and grace!!!

Having a great day!

Things have finally settled down, and I'm truly feeling great!!!  I've gotten so much done the past couple days and it feels really good to get organized.  Isn't that always the way?  Seems if we get off course we feel dissatisfied with ourselves...hummm it's the same when we get off course with our daily walk and talk with God.  He's always listening to us, but I know I don't always take the time to give back.  I think that's why my life gets off wack how about you?  If I don't get into HIS work and pray early in the morning, my day just doesn't feel the same...there's something missing.
 Here are a couple things I've created...oh and there is a group on FB called Art Abandonment Group where many Artists and Artisans all over the country are leaving ATCs and other items around town as a Gift to anyone that finds it...I'm loving participating too. Thanks be to God we made it thru the last couple days

I think it was Thursday things started to happen..I was having problems with my back (ole' back isn't want it used to be) Dewey took me to Urgent Care where we sat for an hr before being seen....The dr was straight forward in saying with discs that are degenerating the main thing was to determine if there is any neurological problems going on....there wasn't.  he wrote a perscription for Predisone and after taking the first 6 pills the back started to settle down!! sigh!!!
I can't remember if it was Thursday night or Friday that we lost all power to the house do to a serve storm that downed many trees all over the area...reached down to Cities all around us too.  Many are still without power today...and will be for 5 or 6 more days.   We borrowed some fans from our daughter, and a generator was offered by a neighbor (that needed fixing before we could us it).  We couldn't save the frozen foods...another sigh...
Worst of all the poor pugs (can't take high heat or cold) were panting so much their tongues were blue.  Finally we had to take them out in the truck and drive around with the air on.  It helped some, but as soon as we got back in the house they were panting hard again...we did it a couple times...I have to digress here as we didn't get the fans or generator till later in the evening..dah!!
Any whoooo we got into bed all stinky and hot hoping to get some sleep as we are totally exhausted.   Around 1 am in the morning we heard the air come on...Yeppie another blessings!!!  I have to ya (most of you already know) that was 2 very hard days!!
Now for the more positive news...I was able to created some new paintings during those 2 days too!  Here are some photos of some...Blessings to all and am praying that if you've been through rough times do to weather or anything else that you are doing better now...(((hugs)))

Just stopped by to share some jewelry with you

Gee two days in a row!!!  If you'd been with me as I did my chores you probably would have been surprised I found time to even get online..eehehe!!!  I've created some new rings and a couple necklaces, changed the sheets on our bed, cleaned the floors, all the while working on 3 loads of clothes.  The comforter is just about dry....and will smell so good as I put it out on the deck rail in the breezy air...what a lovely day...we did have a little storm early this morning, then the sun came out and the winds started up...I've had both doors open as it's been really comfy!!!
Now to get back to vacuuming the rugs, and start dinner!

Hope you all have had a great day too.  If you are in the path of the bad weather down in Florida do take care and stay safe...we have one sister living in Lady Lakes..but she doesn't have a computer.  Can you imagine anyone without one???  hehehehe

I should be receiving my new camera tomorrow, however I was able to take some photos before it started acting up again.   Do hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend..ours was delightful!  Since Dewey is working from home it's been awesome having him close...spending more time together, eating lunch and sharing more makes us both feel so blessed. God is getting our attention regarding a house we found  some weeks ago...we continue to pray for guidance in this matter cuz of course we don't want to make a mistake leaving us with more problems.   The owner showed us all around, and just recently lowered the price.  Dewey's bro is a Real Estate Agent and has made a bid for us.  We are feeling pretty good about the location and the condition of this little rock home...it has a full basement which will provide so much room for all kinds of things plus a nice big room for Dewey to set up all the exercise equipment that's been out in our garage.   I know if it's God will for us to make this change it will happen..I have peace about it and so does D.  Now for those photos I promised...oh and I created some sterling silver and gemstone rings I'll take with my new camera and post tomorrow or Tuesday!!!   Lots of hugs and wishes for each of you to have a great week. Where has the time gone?

I'm wondering if it's just me or does everyone find posting in your blogs sometimes takes a backseat to living?  I know for me it's been so full of trying to fit everything I'm doing into a 24hr time span.  I have 2 groups I now belong to...one is a quilting group that meets twice a month. (have mentioned this before) the second is a woman's share group which meets only once a month...Last Thursday was our meeting for June, and our hostess, Elizabeth invited a speaker from ebid.com ,a local business that helps those needing to downsize to do just that.  Now I have a place to sell some of my collectibles my children don't want left to them...geez how can that be...wouldn't anyone "love" to have my collection of White Hobnail by Fenton? hehehe!!! Gee maybe I should post some photos of what I have just in case you have a place for them!  What'cha think?
I have been struggling with the arthritis in my hands agravated by all the Chemo hats I made in the last month.  I did 10 for one lady, and a couple for women I've met while shopping..that's what my intention was from the beginning!  make them then hand them out as I met those in need of one.   The lady I made the 10 for was so excited, and said it made her feel so good when others commented on her lovely hats.  She will so complete Chemo and I'd ask that you all keep "Ruth" in your prayers that the cancer is gone!!
I've been making some jewelry but my camera is having a breakdown...gotta get it looked at...probably something simple as I'm not very good with little things like that..ehehhe
I will try to post what I do have...oh and what fun it's been to pull out the copper wire I'd purchased when I first started creating jewelry oh about 7 yrs ago..yea it's still just as shiny because it was in a protective bag!!!   I made two chokers yesterday (braided) and added a pendant I'd made and have earrings to match...can't wait to share them with ya! 
Now I'd just like to say I've missed visiting all your blogs and will in the next week try to post in everyone that I follow...not a easy feat since there are so many I follow, but I'll be seeing you soon..blessings to all may peace and grace be with you!!!

Missy is doing fine!

I"m here to give you all an update on Missy's surgery yesterday....although she was in the operating room almost 5 hrs, all went well so much so that she was able to go home this afternoon.  I know she was happy about that cuz that's where she can feel comfort and rest.  Skip is taking very good care of her...I hope to get over after my sale this weekend.  I wanted to add some of the new jewelry I've been making all week...finally found the cord needed to download them.eheheh~~  Yeppie!!!

It's 1:18 in the morning, and I'm unable to sleep. (Pain pills do that to me if I take them too late) So instead of keeping my dh up I came in the puter room to do some research, and to meditate on my youngest daughter's surgery this morning. Most of you know about her rare muscle disease (one of the 40 followed by Muscular Dystrophy)  Well that muscle disease is attacking her heart.  Her heart rate is down to 30 so her Cardiologist is going to put a Fibulator in  after doing a Heart Cath to make sure there's no blockages.  Missy has always been a private person one who doesn't say much, but I find she has great faith in God.  I'd completely forgotten the time so many years ago when she got up and went forward in a Church we went to in Berryville.  (it really upsets me that I can't remember such important things especially about my children)  She shared with me the other day after I asked her if she was saved, Mom God is and always has been in control of all things in my life...I don't doubt that HE will be with me through yet another trial.  Praise be to God for  HIS peace and grace in our lives. 
So I ask that you please hold her close in your prayers today!!

Good morning!

Isn't it amazing how the days seem to drift by so quickly as you get older?  ehehhe!  We will be taking a little Saturday drive in a little while...it's supposed to be sunny and warm...it's around 40 degrees right now. 
My flower bed which has half perennials and have annuals is looking pretty good because of all the rain we've had here in VA.   I don't have everything I want in my veggie garden yet, but what's there, squash, cucs, tomatoes and peppers are growing strong.  Will get some photos later today, and post them if I can find the cord to my camera...just don't know what I did with it when I changed everything around in my studio.  Yea, that memory is going south!!!

A new Computer

I'm sitting here still learning about my new computer.  The 24 inch screen and on plug is all there is to it...everything is in the screen...have lots of USB plugins around this screen...can't believe how easy everything is...wonderful have Windows 7!!!
I haven't had all my old saved documents or photos uploaded from the old tower...but will have them in a couple days.  Hope all you Momma's had a wonderful Mother's Day spending time with family.  We had a quiet one...hubby still getting over the Whooping Cough and dealing with a strained back...he forgets he's not superman!!!
I on the other hand am just down right clumbsy!  Was trying to get a large picture with frame off a shelf her in my studio when one of the pugs bumped up agains't me and caused me to drop it...right on my left foot...ouchy!!  This happened almost 2 wks ago, but didn't have it looked at till seeing Dewey's Dr yesterday....yep it's probably broken, but will not be casted since it happened too long ago...just compression bandage to stablize it.  BIG lump on top of foot and 5 black and blue toes..and around the side too.  Am able to wear flip flops no shoes..Oh well, what can I say, I'm a clutz...
Will be sharing some more jewelry soon, and some photos taken on our last Sat drive~~

Puter is down!

Good morning my friends...I'm at a friends house using her computer so I could share what's going on...Yep , my puter decided it had enough and took an extending nap.   John, a computer guru at a place where I used to work took a look at, updated it and we thought it would work when I took it home and hooked it up.  NO it didn't.  Was doing the same thing it did before.  The browser wouldn't work.  I am feeling so blessed right now for when I went back to pick up the tower I was told, "you are expecting" and instantly I could visualize myself at the ripe old age of 69 being pregnant...NOT!  Diane, my dear friend when I worked at Access Independence as their bookkeeper and has remained friends after we moved to Cross Junction 5 yrs ago...(she goes to Church where I go)  Anyway she looked at me and said AI was buying a brand new computer for me with a 20inch flat screen monitor, with Windows 7   Well you can imagine how stunned I was, and then the tears started streaming down my face.  She said I sure hope those are tears of Joy!  Indeed they were...it seems she's in charge of "Roll Your Own" every year, (that's where the disabled go up against normals who have been given a wheelchair...and they race.  Money is put in a fund to help disabled persons...I evidentually qualifiy for it thru that!   There are many Centers for Independant Living in and around Virginia, and I'm sure in other states...they are advocates for those who need accessibilities such as wider doorways for wheelchairs, ramps, lifts just all kinds of things...don't forget to check in your area if there is a need for someone you know with disability...I like to say I'm physically challenged...in so many ways.hehehe!!!
Well, gotta finish up all the things I need to do here on my firends computer...and will back online in about a week from my brand new puter!!!!  love you all.

Blessings to a day better than yesterday!

Waking to the chill of cold rain coming down makes one wonder if they should just stay in bed.  Well I don't sleep as well as I should so staying in bed later than 6am makes me much slower throughout the day....I was just reading my sister's advise to me in my last post, and she's so right...feeling the way I do I can't do anything but to take little naps..I don't have the energy to do much else.   I'd taken one of those little naps last evening, and upon waking I walked out into the livingroom to find Dewey scrubbing the floors...he said he didn't want me to feel I had to do it today as it's been almost a week.  Sometimes I wonder if we have little set backs like allergies, and colds just to make us stop and rest!! ( and let hubbys show how much they love us!!!

The past 3 weeks

Good morning!!
For the last 2 weeks I've been caring for Dewey (my hubby) because he has pneumonia...3 visits to the doctors, yesterday being the most recent.  As I listened to his dr, Ginny, tell him he was still wheezing, but was finally getting better I happened to cough.  She turned to me and said, my goodness lets take a look at you!!   Yep, I also have pneumonia, and was prompty given 4 perscriptions...Prednisone, an inhaler, strong antibiotic, and Tessenex to help with the congestion and wheezing...Wouldn't you know it!!!   Now he has to care for me...it's supposed to rain all weekend so we will be staying in eating some homemake soup....these kinds of illnesses don't affect me the same way they do him. 
I've been up most of the night hurting all over so I finally too 2 pain pills, and came in here to check msgs!   I can't post an photos that I took recently as I've "lost" my camera...now I know it wasn't working as well as it did when I first got it, but I sure need to be able to keep up on the things I create so I can share with you all.   I was going to get one of those old throw away camera....but....I think I will order a new one from fromQVC..they have some good prices on them!!!
I'm hoping that all of you stay clear of this junk we have, it started with all the pollen in the air....sigh!!!

Easter 2012

My day started with putting some meatballs in bbq sauce to slow cook while I went to Church to hear my Preacher give is wonderful account of the meaning of Easter.  As I've said before it's bitter/sweet to read the accounts of what led up to the crucifixion of our precious Christ Jesus!  After Church we left for a party to celebrate the life of one of God's children who's been facing the pain of cancer!  It was good to be with her and her family, hubbies ex-wife, and dear sisters and bros who continue to be an extension of our family!  It was a treat to see everyone and to be in our Host and Hostess' beautiful home again...it's been a year!  I have to tell you a little about Ken and Sherree Ryder...I believe she's the youngest of 5 sisters and one bro.  They  have opened 2 gyms, and are about to open 3 more...Sheree was a body builder, and made a big hit when competing.  Have to say I admire their love for one another and for family!
